Linda Conti, Vice President
Linda Conti comes to the Seacoast Jazz Society, first and foremost, as a fan of music and jazz in particular. Her background includes both extensive experience in all aspects of marketing as well as involvement in the music business. As a marketing professional, she worked in several nonprofit educational institutions, including California Medical Association, where she worked in the public relations department interviewing cutting edge researchers in medicine and psychology to record and produce radio news service feeds for California radio stations. During that time she also took a sound engineering course at a San Francisco recording studio where she subsequently produced music recordings with local jazz musicians. She also worked as marketing director at a San Francisco psychology graduate school, later moving to Boston where she was a marketing director in management program at Lesley College, before becoming marketing director of continuing education at the University of New Hampshire, from which she recently retired. She attended college in her home state of Ohio, obtaining a degree in Communication Arts. While there she performed solo in coffeehouses at venues in northern and southern Ohio. Most recently her involvement in music includes voice lessons to learn to sing again and launching an online music venue on Facebook called Seacoast Jazz Live, which she started this past March to host performances by local jazz musicians during the pandemic. She has been an avid attendee at the Press Room's Sunday and Tuesday night events and looks forward to serving on the board of the Seacoast Jazz Society to help further its mission of jazz appreciation and education. |
