Current Publications: Seacoast Jazz Notes and Seacoast Jazz Beats
In striving to support both jazz musicians and jazz appreciators on the Seacoast, Seacoast Jazz Society produces two regular email publications:
1. Seacoast Jazz Notes, published every other week, highlights upcoming performance events and lecture series from our calendar. Events for the calendar and Seacoast Jazz Notes can be submitted here.
2. Seacoast Jazz Beats, published on the 28th of each month, presents feature stories, musician profiles, music reviews, links to new music, jazz history articles, a tech corner, and more. Those interested in submitting writing, recordings, or news, please contact the Jazz Beats editor, Linda Conti at [email protected]. The deadline to submit items for the Monthly, is the 14th of each month.
By subscribing, members of our community will automatically receive both publications.

Past issues of these publications can be found in our archives according to their category: Collecting Jazz: Each column features a classic modern jazz album deemed appropriate for any serious collection. Among the albums previously featured and now in our archives are Kind of Blue, Giant Steps, The Amazing Bud Powell. And, of course, many more. In the Jazz Library: A reader’s guide to books about jazz and the musicians who compose it and play it. Jazz Anecdotes: This column offers a glimpse into the lives of jazz musicians through little stories about their experiences, told in their own words. Sometimes funny, sometimes poignant, sometimes educational. But rarely boring. In the Spotlight: In which Seacoast Jazz Notes acknowledges the contribution of a Seacoast jazz musician. Remembering: This is our Seacoast Jazz Notes obituaries column, in which we say goodbye to members of our jazz family—both of the Seacoast and beyond—at their passing. On the Scene: Reviews of live jazz performances on the Seacoast. Bandstand Humor: Did you hear the one about the jazz musician who...? Funny stuff. |
