Israel Yost
Arriving in New Hampshire just in time for the blizzard of ’78, Israel Yost has spent countless hours listening to Seacoast musicians, particularly those who play jazz. After first working in the area as a carpenter in partnership with a brother, Israel joined the Computer Science faculty at UNH in 1993 and has been teaching there ever since. As a resident of Lee he served for years on the Solid Waste Committee, mostly as its chair. When not at UNH or at the Press Room, he can be found playing soccer in Madbury, Hampton or Epping. Although he regularly played piano (and church organ) publicly in his youth, he currently plays but occasionally and for his ears only. |
