Greg Hopkins
Greg Hopkins, prominent trumpeter, composer, arranger, and orchestra leader, retired from Berklee College of Music after 47 years as professor of jazz composition. For 27 years Greg conducted the prestigious Berklee Concert Jazz Orchestra (BCJO) and this May he conducted his Farewell Concert. Hopkins's illustrious career includes performances with Frank Sinatra, Joe Williams, Lena Horne, Dizzy Gillespie, Gladys Knight, and various Motown artists. He was a former arranger and jazz trumpeter with both the Billy Maxted and Buddy Rich orchestras, and a performer and arranger for RCA Records. Greg continues to perform throughout New England and internationally with many performers, including frequently with Tim Ray and his chamber jazz trio, Tre Corda. |
