Chick's new trio replicates his previous musical genius, found chiefly in the trio format (IMHO). This is a new treatment of one of his best tunes from his old trio with Roy Haynes and Miroslav Vitous. You should listen to the whole album, Trilogy (2013), because it is excellent!

Wallace Roney – Don’t Stop Me Now
This is some truly outstanding jazz in the bebop quintet format. You’ll find this a very exciting tune with many changes in tempo and dynamics even though it begins as a ballad. It sure sounds like Wayne Shorter but is not.
