The Seacoast Jazz Society is proud to host renowned vibist, pianist, and composer, ED SAINDON, at The Press Room during Sunday Brunch on April 2. The Press Room is located at 77 Daniel St. in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
Saindon's quartet will perform music from the Great American Songbook, mainstream jazz, and original compositions.
Two 60-minute shows will be offered.
First Show: 10:00 am. Second Show: 12:30 pm. Ticket cost per show is: $15/online presale ($18/at the door). Brunch items will be available during both shows (food not included in ticket price).
ED SAINDON is one of the country’s leading vibraphonists. His (four mallet) “pianistic” style was influenced by artists from Fats Waller to Art Tatum to present. Trained at Berklee College of Music by 7-time Grammy winner, Gary Burton, Saindon has performed worldwide and played and/or recorded with Fred Hersch, Dave McKenna, Louie Bellson, Dave Liebman, Herb Pomeroy, Ken Peplowski, Warren Vache, Kenny Werner, and many others. Since 1976, he also has been teaching vibes at Berklee. CDs include: “Swing on the Sunnyside”, “Depth of Emotion”, and “Key Play”. Author of several articles in Downbeat, Percussive Notes, and other publications, Saindon has written several books, including the four-volume series, The Complete Guide to Improvisation and Voicing Concepts for the Jazz Vibist.
This event is one of many offered throughout the year by the Seacoast Jazz Society, a 501(c)(3) NH nonprofit founded in 1990 to foster jazz education and appreciation; community outreach; support of local musicians, scholarships for young artists; and performances and events.
